Finding the Best Carp Fishing Rod

Carp are definitely a different kind of fish and it will take a different kind of rod to catch them.  If you interested in catching carp, than the rod you choose is important to your success.  While you might find a cheaper rod, going for one designed for carp so that the joints and action will be appropriate.

As important is the reel that you choose.  It is important to find a reel that is matched well to your chosen rod.  The length of the rod you choose depends on the distance you plan to fish from.  You have to be able to handle the weight of the fish as well as the distance from the shore that you are fishing in.  When possible, buy specially made carp rods that have a rod and reel with at least a 1-2 pound test for smaller carp and a 3 pound test for larger ones.

Hooks for Your Carp Fishing Rod

Carp are not your normal fish.  They react differently in the water and when caught which is one of the reasons that so many people enjoy fishing for them.  Instead of using standard hooks, buy those that are especially designed for car.  Your local fishing store should have hooks that are labeled for carp and you will see that there is a pretty distinct difference in them.  Before you purchase, check with your local laws to make sure that the hooks you are using will not get you into trouble.
