The Carp Rod of your Dreams

If you are fishing for carp you have no doubt seen a lot of equipment.  It is important to keep in mind as you search for the perfect carp rod, that what you choose doesn’t necessarily have to be for carp.  Many stores will charge a whole lot more if a rod is designed especially for carp when that isn’t what you really need!

This is true especially if you are fishing for smaller carp.  One of the important factors when it comes to catching carp is to see what sort of rod action is the most suitable.  You may want to talk to local angler in your area first and see whether fast or tip action rods are best.

Fast Action or Tip Action Carp Rods

You will basically see carp rods divided into two categories.  They will either have fast action or tip action.  While that is a local choice, what you need to pay attention to is the kind of fishing rod you are using.  Remember that on a carp rod the separated spigot joint is at the bottom half of the rod.  You want to find a rod that has fitted joints rather than the pullover kind because they tend to be stronger and more durable to withstand reeling in carp.
