Elements to Choosing the Perfect Fishing Reel and Rod Combo
You have two things to consider when choosing a fishing reel and rod combo. Rod action and rod power. This is basically the essence that your fishing success will depend on. Action in a rod means just how much bend you have at the end of your rod. An extra fast action rod will bend at the very tip while a fast action will bend at the last ¼ of the rod length.
If you have a slow action rod it means it will bend all the way down to the grip you are holding. With a fast action rod, you can cast a lot further although without experience you are more liable to throw your bait right off the end of the rod.
Consider Rod Power When Choosing Fishing Reel and Rod Combo
Your rod has to be able to hold the weight of the lures and bait as well as hold up to the fish you are fishing for. The best thing to do is start out with an all around medium weight rod that will be a little more versatile and be able to handle just about any of the fishing you might get into. If you start too light or heavy it will dampen your experience.
