Looking for a Fishing Rod and Reel? Look No Further

Chances are you can pick up a fishing rod and reel just about anywhere.  However, when it comes to fishing you often get what you pay for.  Some of the top fishing rods and reels may be well out of your price range and for more of the professional angler, but being too frugal means you may not be able to pull in the trout that has clipped your line. Also, keep in mind what kind of fishing you will be doing.

If you will be fly fishing than you must invest in special reels made just for that.  If you will casting or trolling than you will want to choose from spinning fishing reels.  There are as many reels on the market as there are types of fish; so take come time to check them all out before making a decision.

Fishing Rod & Reel for the Beginner

If you are a beginner or buying a fishing rod and reel for a child, you probably want to start with a closed face reel.  These are the kinds where you push a button to cast and let go when you throw out your line.  They are simple to use and effective especially for lake or pond fishing.  They also don’t tangle as easily as others, which make them perfect for a child.  As you progress with your skill or as your child grows older you will find that open reels cast a lot further and are a little more fun to use.
